American Association

of Blacks in Energy - East Tennessee Chapter
MISSION

To provide direct input into the deliberations and developments of energy policies, regulations, emerging technologies, and environmental issues.

CHAPTER OVERVIEW

The East Tennessee Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) is a regional branch of the national AABE organization, which is dedicated to ensuring the input of African Americans and other minorities into the discussions and development of energy policy, regulations, and technology.

Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the chapter was founded in 2014. East Tennessee Chapter operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, officially recognized since 2017. While specific program details are limited in public databases, the chapter likely aligns with AABE’s broader mission of promoting energy education, supporting underrepresented students through scholarships, mentoring, and fostering professional development within the energy sector. The chapter meets bimonthly virtually and occasionally hybrid.
